...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN WHARTON...
SOUTHWESTERN FORT BEND...SOUTHWESTERN BRAZORIA AND MATAGORDA COUNTIES
THROUGH 415 PM CDT...

At 346 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Wharton to near South Texas Nuclear Plant.
Movement was east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Sugar Land, southeastern Rosenberg, Bay City, Richmond, Wharton, West
Columbia, Sweeny, South Texas Nuclear Plant, Brazoria, Needville,
Pleak, Fairchilds, Beasley, Kendleton, Thompsons, Sargent, New
Territory, Brazos Bend State Park, Van Vleck, and Boling-Iago.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM CDT for
southeastern Texas.
