...The flood warning continues for the following rivers in South

  James River Near Columbia

.The following river forecasts include forecast precipitation through
the next 24 hours. Any additional future precipitation could affect
the forecasts.

The James River is responding to all the warm weather of late. Most
of the snow in the James River basin has melted and the water is
beginning to find its way into the river channel. As a result, the
James River near Columbia has risen into flood stage and is forecast
to remain there for at least the next few days.


Safety message...Flood waters can be very dangerous. Never drive
across a flooded road...Turn around don`t drown!

* Until Friday early afternoon...
* At 9AM Tuesday the stage was 13.8 feet...
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast...
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet...
* Forecast...The river rose above flood stage and will continue
  rising to near 14.0 feet by midnight Wednesday. The river will
  fall below flood stage Friday early afternoon.
* At 15.0 feet...Significant amounts of agricultural lands are
