...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN CHESTER...YORK...
SPARTANBURG...CHEROKEE AND NORTHERN UNION COUNTIES THROUGH 245 AM
EDT...

At 200 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 13 miles southeast of Shelby to 7 miles south
of Gaffney to 11 miles southwest of Spartanburg. Movement was east at
40 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 45 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Spartanburg, Gaffney, Union, York, Rock Hill, Tega Cay, Clover,
Boiling Springs SC, Newport, and Duncan.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 400 AM EDT for Upstate South
Carolina.
