FEW THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS SOUTHEAST WEST VIRGINIA...INTO THE
MOUNTAINS OF SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA...THROUGH TONIGHT. THE STORMS WILL
BE SLOW MOVERS AND HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO PUT DOWN IN EXCESS OF 2
INCHES AN HOUR.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BLACKSBURG HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA AND
  SOUTHEAST WEST VIRGINIA...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS...IN
  SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA...BLAND...GILES...SMYTH...TAZEWELL AND
  WYTHE. IN SOUTHEAST WEST VIRGINIA...EASTERN GREENBRIER...
  MERCER...MONROE...SUMMERS AND WESTERN GREENBRIER.

* THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING

* SLOW MOVING SHOWERS AND STORMS WILL BE CAPABLE OF DROPPING IN
  EXCESS OF 2 INCHES AN HOUR. THIS THREAT WILL MAINLY BE FROM THIS
  AFTERNOON TIL MIDNIGHT OR SO.

* THE POTENTIAL FOR FLASH FLOODING WILL BE HIGHEST IN THE
  MOUNTAINOUS AREAS...AND IN URBANIZED AREAS.

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION
SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.

THOSE TRAVELING FOR THIS HOLIDAY WEEKEND WILL NEED TO BE ALERT TO
WEATHER CHANGES. THERE WILL BE A GREAT DEAL OF PONDING OF WATER ON
HIGHWAYS...SO USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
