Flash Flood Warning
National Weather Service Pocatello ID
234 PM MDT WED AUG 23 2017

The National Weather Service in Pocatello has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Central Bannock County in southeastern Idaho...
  East central Power County in southeastern Idaho...

* Until 530 PM MDT

* At 230 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain approaching the
  Powerline Fire burn scar area. Doppler Radar indicates the
  potential for two inch per hour or greater rainfall rates. Flash
  flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Fort Hall Bannock Creek Lodge and the Rattlesnake Creek Drainage
  Region within the Powerline Burn Scar area.

Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow
moving through the Rattlesnake Creek Drainage near Rattlesnake Road.
The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, ash, vegetation and other
loose materials.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.

Move away from recently burned areas. Life-threatening flooding of
creeks, roads and normally dry arroyos is likely. The heavy rains
will likely trigger rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep
terrain, especially in and around these areas.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.
