The National Weather Service in San Angelo has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northwestern Callahan County in west central Texas...
  Northeastern Taylor County in west central Texas...

* Until 830 PM CDT

* At 529 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Rainfall amounts have been
  around 2 inches during the past hour in Abilene, with street
  flooding being reported. Additional heavy rainfall will cause
  flash flooding of creeks, streams and low water crossings,
  especially in Abilene through 830 PM.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Abilene, Clyde, Baird, Tye, Buffalo Gap, Eula, Potosi, View, Dyess
  AFB, Impact and Kirby Lake.

This includes the following low water crossings ...
    I-20 Frontage Roads near Baird...
    I-20 Frontage Roads west of Clyde...
    Intersections along Buttonwillow Parkway...
    Curry Lane from Clack Street to Catclaw Drive...
    Butternut Underpass...
    Intersections along Sammons Street...
    Texas Avenue at Arnold Boulevard...
    FM 3308 crossing Draw...
    Sunset between South 1st and 2nd and
    Hartford...Redbird...Corsicana Streets.
Do not drive through these low water crossings or any other
low water crossing with water flowing across the roadway.


Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
