The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
  North central Catawba County in the Piedmont of North Carolina...
  Southern Alexander County in the Piedmont of North Carolina...

* Until 900 PM EDT

* At 703 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
  thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.
  Up to two inches of rain have fallen since 600 PM.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  St. Stephens, Bethlehem, Hiddenite, Little River In Alexander
  County, Millersville, Oxford, Lake Hickory, Hickory and Lookout
  Shoals Lake.

Additional rainfall is expected over the area, as thunderstorms
continue to redevelop over the same areas. This is expected to
result in minor flooding.


Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
