FLOOD STATEMENT

...The flood warning is cancelled for the Little Wabash River
   affecting areas in southeast Illinois...

   At Carmi affecting Gallatin...Wayne and White Counties

.The water level along the Little Wabash River at Carmi, IL
has fallen below the flood stage of 27 feet. The river first
rose above flood stage on Friday morning, August 19. A crest of
29.3 feet occurred last Wednesday, August 24.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SAFETY MESSAGE...

Never drive cars...trucks or sport utility vehicles through flooded
areas. The water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow
children to play in or near flood waters. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather
Radio or your local media for further statements and possible updated
forecasts.

* At 11 PM Sunday the stage was 26.9 feet.
* Flood Stage is 27.0 feet.
* Fell below flood stage at 9:45 PM Sunday.
* Forecast...The river will fall to 25.4 feet Tuesday morning.
* Impact...At 27.0 Feet...The inundation of county roads begins.
