Weather Summary for Portions of the Central Plains
National Weather Service Hastings NE
432 AM CST Mon Dec 18 2017

Well above normal temperatures are expected across the region to
start the new work week. For this afternoon...expect high
temperatures to soar to near 60 degrees in spots...and these warm
temperatures combined with low relative humidities and occasionally
gusty winds could result in elevated to near critical fire weather
conditions for areas primarily west of highway 183. The big change
for the week will come on Thursday as a strong cold front dives
across the local area. While there will be a chance for some
accumulating snow with this front...especially for areas north of
Interstate 80...the bigger effect will be the radical drop in
temperatures which is expected to persist through at least Christmas
Day. At this looks like there may be multiple chances for
some light snowfall across the local area through early next
week...but uncertainty remains high in potential snowfall amounts as
well as in the most favored locations.
