National Weather Service North Platte NE
728 PM CDT Sun Apr 23 2017 /628 PM MDT Sun Apr 23 2017/

With the area of high pressure moving east out of the state and a
storm system moving off the Rockies, western Nebraska experienced
strong southerly winds. Wind gusts topped 40 miles per hour across
most of the Sandhills. Combined with filtered sunshine,
temperatures reached the lower 70s, which is about ten degrees
above normal.

Breezy and partly cloudy conditions will continue overnight,
although a stray light rain shower cannot be ruled out for northern
Nebraska. Lows will be rather mild in the mid to upper 40s across
the region. A strong cold front drops south through the Sandhills
tomorrow, which will switch the winds out of the northwest. Highs
will range from the upper 60s along the South Dakota border to the
mid 70s south of Interstate 80.
