Weather Summary for Puerto Rico
National Weather Service San Juan PR
521 PM AST Fri Feb 24 2017

Skies were mostly sunny with some puffy cumulus, but no rain was
observed. Southerly flow kept temperatures in the mid 80s on the
south coast but temperatures reached 90 degrees at the airport in
San Juan mid afternoon. Winds were 5 to 15 mph. Elsewhere temperatures
were mostly in the 70s in all but the highest elevations.

This dry air mass will continue through Saturday before moisture
begins to creep in again on Sunday. Isolated shallow showers
may occur over the local waters overnight and over Puerto Rico`s
northwest quadrant Saturday afternoon, but amounts--if any--will
be light. Winds will become more southeasterly and temperatures
are expected to reach the high 80s Saturday afternoon on the north
coast. Elsewhere temperatures will range from the mid 80s to the
upper 60s in the highest elevations.

Seas of ten and one half feet were observed at the outer buoy late
yesterday evening but seas are slowly coming down. Seas were
still between 6 and 7 feet at the inner buoy late this afternoon
so the high risk of rip currents on the northern coasts continue
and the high surf advisory remains until 2 AM AST Saturday. A
Small Craft Advisory is in effect till Saturday morning for the
offshore Atlantic coastal waters, but will come down for the inner
waters overnight. Small craft are urged to exercise caution
across the passages and outer Caribbean waters due to seas up to 6
feet.
