Weather Summary for Puerto Rico...CORRECTED

Variably to mostly cloudy skies were observed across the Puerto
Rico overnight. Shower activity focus across the surrounding
waters. But, showers and thunderstorms were detected across the
eastern and northern areas of PR. The preliminary highest rainfall
accumulations ranged from a quarter to an inch of rain. Early
morning coastal temperatures were near the upper 70s to low 80 and
between low 60s and low 70s across the mountain areas. The winds
were calm to light and variable over land areas, but gusty near
shower activity.

Weather conditions are expected to continue to deteriorate today
as a strong tropical wave moves across the northeast Caribbean.
Shower and thunderstorm activity will become more frequent
as the Strong Tropical Wave approaches the local area. Based on
the latest guidance, there is an increasing potential for flooding
rains across the forecast area. For this reason a Flash Flood
Watch has been issued through this evening. Therefore, residents
and visitors in Puerto Rico should closely monitor the progress
of this system. Stay tuned.

Marine conditions will deteriorate as this tropical wave moves
across the northeast Caribbean. Seas will increase 8 to 10 feet
with occasional seas up to 11 feet. Also, mariners can expect seas
around 20 knots with highest gusty winds. Therefore, a small
craft advisory is in effect across most of the local waters.
