WEATHER SUMMARY FOR PUERTO RICO

MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES PREVAILED ACROSS PUERTO RICO OVERNIGHT.
SCATTERED TO NUMEROUS SHOWERS WERE OBSERVED OVER THE CARIBBEAN
COASTAL WATERS. SOME OF THESE SHOWERS AFFECTED THE SOUTHEAST AND
EAST SECTIONS OF PUERTO RICO. TEMPERATURES WERE IN THE MID TO
UPPER 70S AND THE WINDS WERE LIGHT AND VARIABLE.

FOR THIS AFTERNOON...SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP ESPECIALLY
OVER NORTHWEST PUERTO RICO AND NORTHWEST OF EL YUNQUE OVER PARTS
OF CAROLINA AND THE GREATER SAN JUAN METROPOLITAN AREA. SOME
AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE HEAVY WITH LOCALIZED URBAN AND SMALL
STREAM FLOODING. HIGHS WILL RANGE FROM THE MID 70S IN THE HIGHEST
MOUNTAINS TO THE LOWER 90S ON THE SOUTH COAST. ALTHOUGH HEAVY RAIN
WILL SLOWLY DECREASE IN COVERAGE DURING THE REST OF THE
WEEK...WELL AT LEAST UNTIL FRIDAY...SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL
STILL DEVELOP IN A FEW PARTS OF THE ISLANDS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN
EACH DAY THIS WEEK.

MARINERS CAN EXPECT SEAS UP TO 5 FEET AND WINDS OF 5 TO 15 KNOTS
ACROSS THE LOCAL WATERS. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE LIKELY TO
CONTINUE THROUGH AT LEAST MID WEEK OVER PORTIONS OF THE COASTAL
WATERS.
