...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
  possible.

* WHERE...Portions of northeast North Carolina, including the
  following areas, Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Eastern Currituck, Gates,
  Hertford, Northampton, Pasquotank, Perquimans and Western
  Currituck and southeast Virginia, including the following areas,
  Chesapeake, Greensville, Hampton/Poquoson, Isle of Wight, James
  City, Newport News, Norfolk/Portsmouth, Southampton, Suffolk,
  Surry, Sussex, Virginia Beach and York.

* WHEN...Through this evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
  Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - The axis of heavy rain will shift east as the cold front
    approaches and remain across the eastern portion of the local
    area through the day today. An additional 1.5 to 2.5 inches
    of rain is expected across southeast Virginia and northeast
    North Carolina, with localized higher amounts possible.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.
