Under mostly cloudy and breezy conditions, mild temperatures were
observed across the region. Early morning temperatures ranged from
the upper 50s to lower 60s across the state. Some patchy fog and
drizzle was impacting parts of eastern Kansas while strong
southerly winds were impacting the high plains of western Kansas.

A vigorous storm system will impact the region today bringing the
threat for severe weather with large hail, damaging winds and
tornadoes. The biggest impacts are expected over southern Kansas
and Oklahoma late this afternoon and into tonight. Highs today
will climb into the 70s and 80s, warmest over parts of southwest
Kansas.

Storms will spread rapidly east this evening before exiting Kansas
around midnight or shortly thereafter. Breezy westerly winds will
overspread the area tonight with lows falling into the upper 30s
and lower 40s over extreme western Kansas while those in eastern
Kansas bottom out in the mid and upper 50s.
