...The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Flood
Warning for portions of the following rivers in western and southern
Indiana...

  East Fork White River...Wabash River...

.Widespread lowland flooding will develop by the weekend along the
Wabash...White and East Fork White Rivers.  Flooding will last from 5
to more than 10 days in southwest Indiana.

Rainfall will exceed an inch on Thursday evening and night in most
of the state.  Additional rain will return during the weekend.

At this time significant flooding is not anticipated. High water
will continue to affect fallow agricultural fields, river parks,
local and a few state roads in the days ahead.

Precipitation totals of 1 to 3 inches have fallen in central and
southern Indiana since January 10.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a

* Flood Warning for
  the East Fork White River near Rivervale.
* FROM MONDAY MORNING TO Thursday January 26.
* At 10:30 AM Wednesday the stage was 16.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by Monday morning and continue to
  rise to near 21.2 feet by Tuesday evening.  The river will fall
  below flood stage by Thursday morning.
* At 20.5 feet...Lawrenceport Road just east of Lawrenceport and on
  the south side of river begins to flood around this level.  By 22
  feet this road is impassable.  During typical floods in this
  area...this portion of the road can be flooded by 5 to more than 10
  feet of water.  During the January 2005 flood...this area would
  have been near the "bottom" of the river...underwater by nearly 17
  feet.  In the great March 1913 flood...more than 25 feet of water
  would have covered this location.

* Flood Warning for
  the Wabash River at Clinton.
* FROM LATE TONIGHT TO Thursday January 26.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is forecast to have a maximum value of 21.8
  feet early Sunday morning.
* At 22.0 feet...Low areas of River Park at Clinton floods.  Higher
  county roads and bottomlands begin to flood.

* Flood Warning for
  the Wabash River at Vincennes.
* FROM SUNDAY MORNING UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
* At 10:45 AM Wednesday the stage was 14.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by late Sunday morning and
  continue to rise to near 18.2 feet by Friday morning.
* At 18.0 feet...Agricultural lands and some oil fields flood.
  Several township roads about 1.25 miles south of St. Francesville
  and River Road between Billett Road and Lincoln Memorial Bridge in
  Lawrence County are flooded.  Extensive flooding of Kimmell Park at
  Vincennes.
