ACROSS THE UPPER MISSISSIPPI RIVER VALLEY TODAY...WARM AND MUGGY
CONDITIONS PREVAILED. SOUTH WINDS WERE BETWEEN 10 AND 20
MPH...WITH GUSTS UP TO 25 MPH ACROSS MINNESOTA AND IOWA DURING THE
AFTERNOON HOURS. SKIES VARIED FROM PARTLY TO MOSTLY SUNNY...AND HIGHS
WERE IN THE UPPER 70S TO MIDDLE 80S.

FOR TONIGHT...PLAN ON DRY CONDITIONS AND MILD TEMPERATURES. LOWS
WILL DROP OFF INTO THE MIDDLE 60S TO AROUND 70 DEGREES...AND IT
WILL BE NOTICEABLY MORE HUMID.

TO START OFF THE NEW WORK WEEK...A VERY WARM AND HUMID AIR MASS
WILL TAKE HOLD OF THE UPPER MIDWEST. AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES MONDAY
WILL REACH THE UPPER 80S TO NEAR 90 DEGREES...ESPECIALLY WEST OF
THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER. COMBINED WITH A VERY MOIST AIR MASS...AND
IT WILL FEEL MORE LIKE 100 DEGREES IN THE AFTERNOON AND EARLY
EVENING. A HEAT ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR PARTS OF SOUTHEAST
MINNESOTA AND NORTHEAST IOWA MONDAY INTO MONDAY EVENING.

GIVEN THAT THIS IS THE FIRST HEAT SPELL OF THE SUMMER...WHICH HAS
BEEN COOLER THAN NORMAL...BE SURE TO TAKE PRECAUTIONS TO PREVENT
HEAT RELATED STRESS AND FATIGUE. DRINK PLENTY OF WATER AND LIMIT
OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES TO EARLY MORNING OR EVENING.
