Weather Summary for Upper Mississippi River Valley
National Weather Service La Crosse WI
1048 AM CST Thu Jan 19 2017
While it was a relatively mild night for mid January, the warm
temperatures led to areas of dense fog. This led to advisories, and
caused some slick spots on area roads, with less than idea driving
The clouds and fog will be slow to burn off today, except sunshine
will prevail in parts of central Minnesota into northwest Wisconsin.
Temperatures will be mainly in the 30s, with some lower 40s.
If there are any breaks in the clouds and fog, they will likely fill
back in, as more clouds move in tonight with a chance for some light
precipitation. This threat for light precipitation could last into
Saturday morning, but much of the weekend should be relatively quiet.
Another weather system may impact the area late next Tuesday, so
that will bear watching.
