Showers and thunderstorms with heavy rain and gusty winds moved
through the area overnight, dumping 2 to 3 inches of rain in
several locations. This led to some flash flooding in areas along
the Mississippi River. Otherwise, low temperatures ranged from the
upper 50s in central Wisconsin to the lower 70s in northeast Iowa.
Showers and storms continued to push east during the late morning
hours, with most activity east of the Mississippi River. High
temperatures will range from the lower 70s in central Wisconsin to
the lower 80s in southwest Wisconsin and northeast Iowa. Another
round of severe weather is possible this afternoon through
tonight, with the main threats being large hail and heavy
rainfall leading to flooding.
Rain chances remain in the forecast through late Friday night,
with a short break on Saturday morning and early afternoon. Then a
cold front will sweep through the area Saturday night, bringing
more showers and thunderstorms to the area.
