Weather Summary for Upper Mississippi River Valley

This afternoon, skies were partly to mostly cloudy across the region
as a cluster of showers and thunderstorms moved across portions of
eastern Iowa. Temperatures were mainly in the 70s.

Thunderstorms are forecast to develop across southeast Minnesota and
western Wisconsin late this evening and into the overnight hours.
Some of the storms may be strong to severe, with large hail and
heavy rain being the main threats. Lows tonight will range from the
upper 50s across northern Wisconsin to near 70 in eastern Iowa.

Additional thunderstorms are likely on Thursday. Some of the storms
on Thursday may also be strong to severe. Highs on Thursday are
expected to range from the mid 70s over eastern Minnesota and
northwest Wisconsin to the upper 80s from east central Iowa into
northern Illinois. Looking ahead, much cooler weather is in store
for the weekend as high temperatures will struggle to reach 70
degrees both Saturday and Sunday.
