Weather Summary for Upper Mississippi River Valley
National Weather Service La Crosse WI
305 AM CST Thu Jan 19 2017

Low clouds and areas of fog were found around much of the region
early this morning, with visibilities reduced to 1/4 mile or less in
some locations. Motorists should be prepared for reductions in
visibility this morning. Slow down and allow extra time to reach
your destinations. Low temperatures so far ranged from the mid 20s
over northwest Minnesota...to the mid 30s over southern Wisconsin.

Visibilities will improve later this morning as the fog lifts and
dissipates, but clouds will linger or increase from the south, ahead
of a warm front and low pressure system. Rain to a wintry mix will
accompany the front, bringing wet conditions mostly from the
Mississippi River eastward. The better chances for a wintry mix will
lie across northern Wisconsin. Highs today will range from the upper
30s over northern Minnesota...to the mid 40s over eastern Iowa. Lows
tonight will range from the upper 20s to lower 30s.

Looking ahead, the relatively mild conditions will persist through
the weekend with highs generally near or above 40 degrees. So will
the rain chances.
