HIGH PRESSURE ACROSS THE REGION TODAY RESULTED IN ENOUGH FILTERED
SUNSHINE TO ALLOW TEMPERATURES TO WARM SOME AFTER A COOL START TO
THE DAY. AFTERNOON HIGHS RANGED FROM THE TEENS ACROSS NORTHERN
WISCONSIN...TO THE 30S FROM SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA INTO MUCH OF IOWA.

UNDER PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES TONIGHT...EXPECT LOW TEMPERATURES TO
BOTTOM OUT FROM AROUND 10 IN PARTS OF WISCONSIN...TO THE MIDDLE
20S OVER CENTRAL IOWA.

LOOKING AHEAD...A POTENT WINTER STORM SYSTEM WILL MOVE IN FOR
LATER SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY. THE STORM WAS GATHERING STRENGTH OVER
THE SOUTHWESTERN STATES...AND WILL MOVE OUT INTO THE PLAINS BY
MORNING. MOIST AIR SURGING NORTH AHEAD OF THE STORM WILL BEGIN TO
SPREAD SNOW INTO IOWA BY SATURDAY AFTERNOON...WITH A SIGNIFICANT
AMOUNT OF ACCUMULATING SNOW IMPACTING IOWA THROUGH ILLINOIS LATE
SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY. WINTER STORM WATCHES ARE IN EFFECT THERE.
LIGHTER SNOWS WILL BE POSSIBLE FURTHER NORTH INTO THE SOUTHERN
HALF OF MINNESOTA AND WISCONSIN. THOSE PLANNING TRAVEL LATER
SATURDAY AND INTO SUNDAY SHOULD CONTINUE TO MONITOR THIS EVOLVING
STORM SYSTEM.
