Weather Summary for Upper Mississippi River Valley
National Weather Service La Crosse WI
245 AM CDT Thu Oct 20 2016

Clouds lingered across the region in many areas through the night,
though temperatures turned notably cooler as northerly breezes
ushered in seasonably chilly readings in the 30s to lower 40s. A few
sprinkles were also noted across northern Iowa the first part of the
night, with otherwise dry conditions regionwide.

Clouds may prove stubborn for some areas right on through the
afternoon, but many spots should see clearing skies through the late
afternoon and early evening. Temperatures today will be quite
typical for this time of year, holding only in the upper 40s to
middle 50s. Look for some clouds to return to the area tonight but
with temperatures bottoming out in the 30s, with areas of frost
expected to develop.

Taking a look ahead, quiet fall weather continues through the
upcoming weekend, as high pressure slowly drifts through the area.
After another chilly day in the 50s Friday, expect daytime highs
back in the 60s both Saturday and Sunday.
