Weather Summary for Upper Mississippi River Valley
National Weather Service La Crosse WI
400 AM CST Mon Feb 19 2018

Clouds thickened across the area through the night, in advance of
low pressure taking shape across the Central Plains. Temperatures
remained mild in many areas, holding in the 30s for much of the
night, but falling back into the 20s across Minnesota and northern
Iowa late.

Several waves of low pressure will work through the region today
into Tuesday, bringing several waves of precipitation. A mix of rain
and freezing rain is expected today, with freezing rain confined
mainly to southeast Minnesota, northern Iowa, and north-central
Wisconsin. However, as temperatures fall in many areas tonight,
freezing rain will spread southward, with slick travel likely to
develop for many spots by sunrise Tuesday.

Thankfully, quiet weather will make a return for midweek as high
pressure works back through the region.
