WEATHER SUMMARY FOR UPPER MISSISSIPPI RIVER VALLEY

SNOW CONTINUED TO FALL THIS MORNING ACROSS NORTHEAST MINNESOTA
INTO NORTHERN WISCONSIN WHILE LIGHT RAIN WAS OCCURRING SOUTH OF
THE SNOW INTO SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA AND WESTERN WISCONSIN. THIS
PRECIPITATION WAS IN RESPONSE TO AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE CENTERED
OVER SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA. A WARM FRONT EXTENDED EAST FROM THE LOW
WHILE A COLD FRONT DROPPED SOUTH ACROSS IOWA INTO MISSOURI.
OUTSIDE OF THE PRECIPITATION AREAS...SKIES ACROSS THE UPPER
MIDWEST WERE CLOUDY WITH TEMPERATURES RANGING FROM THE 20S TO THE
40S.

LOOK FOR THE PRECIPITATION TO MOVE OUT OF THE AREA TODAY AS THE
AREA OF LOW PRESSURE MOVES NORTHEAST TO THE UPPER PENINSULA OF
MICHIGAN. THE COLD FRONT WILL PROGRESS EAST AND SHOULD REACH
EASTERN WISCONSIN AND ILLINOIS BY LATE THIS AFTERNOON. SKIES WILL
BEGIN TO CLEAR ACROSS THE WESTERN SECTIONS OF MINNESOTA AND IOWA
WHILE REMAINING MOSTLY CLOUDY ELSEWHERE. HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL
RANGE FROM THE 30S TO THE 50S.

HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD IN OVER THE UPPER MIDWEST TONIGHT. THIS
WILL ALLOW SKIES TO BECOME MOSTLY CLEAR OR PARTLY CLOUDY ACROSS
THE ENTIRE REGION. LOW TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO BE IN THE 20S
AND 30S.
