Weather Summary for Upper Mississippi River Valley
National Weather Service La Crosse WI
1020 AM CDT Sat Aug 12 2017

High pressure provided cool temperatures and mostly clear skies
overnight. The morning low ranged mostly in the 40s to lower 50s,
though 38 degrees was recorded at the Black River Falls WI airport.

High pressure will continue the dry weather across the area into
tonight, though by Sunday morning a few showers may be seen across
the far western sections of Minnesota and Iowa. We can expect highs
this afternoon to range mostly in the mid and upper 70s, though a
few locations may see 80 degrees. Temperatures tonight then slip
into the mid 40s to mid 50s.

For Sunday, a weak upper system will swing into the region bringing
an increase in clouds, along with a chance for showers to spread
eastward across Minnesota and northern Iowa by the afternoon. A
chance for showers then extends into western Wisconsin Sunday night.
Temperatures are expected to be a little cooler on Sunday due to the
clouds, with most of the area topping out in the 70s.
