National Weather Service Pago Pago AS
158 PM SST Sun Jul 23 2017

.Short term...
TODAY THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT...Latest satellite imagery shows a
line of showers near Manu`a islands about 40 miles NE of Tutuila.
Current model forecast shows this line, marking a weak surface
trough, moving across the main island of American Samoa late
tonight through early Monday morning. Another bout of showers are
forecast to move across the Samoan islands Tuesday. A surface
ridge will build from the Southwest of the Samoan islands Tuesday.
Hence, the current light and variable winds will become gentle to
moderate easterlies by Tuesday.

.Long term...
WEDNESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY...The aforementioned ridge will continue
to build closer to the islands through the long term. Hence, the
moderate to possibly fresh level trades are expected to return
across the forecast area. Periods of showers are expected within
the trade wind flow.

&&

.Marine...
Current observations continue to agree with previous model
forecast. Latest wave watch III still show seas diminishing to
below advisory thresholds by Tuesday morning. Winds are expected
to remain below advisory thresholds then will likely meet criteria
levels for Small Crafts toward the latter part of the week.
