The National Weather Service in The San Francisco Bay Area has issued

* Flood Warning for...
  Western Monterey County in central California...

* Until 1215 PM PST Tuesday

* At 1200 AM PST Tuesday morning the stream gage on the Big Sur
  River near Big Sur reported a stage of 11.8 feet. Flood stage at
  this location is 10.0 feet. Steady moderate to heavy rain has
  ended across the area and only scattered showers are expected
  overnight. However, runoff from heavy rain earlier on Monday will
  maintain flood levels on the river overnight and into Tuesday

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Areas along the Big Sur River including Andrew Molera State Park.


Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams and other low lying spots.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
