Daily Hydrologic Activities Discussion

During the previous 24 hours ending at 7AM CDT Wednesday,
widespread moderate to heavy rainfall associated with thunderstorms
fell in numerous states across the basin. Up to 2.0 inches of rain
was reported in northern Missouri and northeastern Montana, 1.7
inches in central and western Nebraska, and 1.2 inches in western
South Dakota. Nearly every location in Nebraska and the southern
half of South Dakota had measurable rainfall. Elsewhere across the
basin, rainfall amounts were around a half inch or less. The table
below lists locations receiving 1.0 inches of precip or more.

During the next 24 hours ending at 7am CDT Thursday, light
precipitation is forecast primarily for the western half of
the basin, across central Montana, eastern Wyoming and
northeastern Colorado. Heavier amounts are likely to occur
across the southeastern part of the basin, including the states
of Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri, where additional
convective activity is forecast for today. In these locations,
up to 1.0 inches of rain is expected, with locally higher amounts
associated with thunderstorms. Elsewhere, amounts will be
generally less than a tenth of an inch.

Minor flooding is forecast or occurring in the following locations:

Missouri River (northwestern North Dakota, eastern Missouri)
Osage River (western Missouri)
Laramie River (southeastern Wyoming)
Wind River (central Wyoming)
Platte River (western Nebraska)
South Plate River (northeastern Colorado, western Nebraska)
Cache La Poudre River (northeastern Colorado)
James River (eastern South Dakota)
Boulder River (southern Montana)
Tongue River (southeastern Montana)
Elk and Rapid Creek (western South Dakota)

Moderate flooding is forecast or occuring in the following locations:
