THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHWEST NORTH
CAROLINA...EAST TENNESSEE AND SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...

AN UPPER-LEVEL DISTURBANCE WILL BRING COLDER AIR AND SOME LIGHT
WINTRY PRECIPITATION TO THE REGION LATE TONIGHT. THOUGH MOST AREAS
WILL NOT SEE ANY ACCUMULATION...A LIGHT MIX OF RAIN AND SNOW IS
EXPECTED ACROSS THE VALLEY. SOME LIGHT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE
POSSIBLE ALONG THE NORTHERN PLATEAU AND THE CUMBERLAND MOUNTAINS OF
SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY...

...MUCH COLDER AIR AND WINTRY PRECIPITATION EXPECTED EARLY THIS
WEEK...

MUCH COLDER AIR WILL MOVE INTO THE AREA EARLY THIS WEEK.
TEMPERATURES COULD BE COLD ENOUGH THAT SOME LIGHT SNOWFALL IS
POSSIBLE ACROSS THE REGION BEGINNING LATE TONIGHT AND CONTINUING
INTO MONDAY MORNING BEFORE TEMPERATURES WARM A LITTLE ABOVE
FREEZING. THEN...A MIXTURE OF RAIN AND SNOW WILL BE IN THE FORECAST
THROUGH THE MIDDLE PART OF THE DAY BUT SHOULD TRANSITION TO ALL
SNOW LATER MONDAY AFTERNOON. THE SNOW SHOWERS SHOULD PERSIST MONDAY
NIGHT ALL THE WAY INTO WEDNESDAY ACROSS MOST OF THE AREA.
SEVERAL INCHES OF SNOWFALL ACCUMULATION IS LIKELY ACROSS THE
HIGHER TERRAIN. LIGHT SNOWFALL IS ALSO ANTICIPATED ACROSS THE
VALLEY WHICH MAY PRODUCE TRAVEL PROBLEMS.

BESIDES THE SNOW...HIGHS TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY WILL ONLY CLIMB INTO
THE MIDDLE 20S TO LOWER 30S WITH LOWS DROPPING INTO THE TEENS MOST
LOCATIONS. WIND CHILLS ACROSS THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF THE FAR
EAST TENNESSEE MOUNTAINS AND SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA WILL DROP TO 5 TO
15 DEGREES BELOW ZERO AT TIMES.
