BARROW...ALAKTAK...PITT POINT...NULAVIK

...SOUTHWEST WINDS AND WAVES NEAR THE COAST ON FRIDAY...

A WEATHER SYSTEM WILL MOVE EAST ACROSS THE CHUKCHI SEA FRIDAY AND
BRING A PERIOD OF SOUTHWEST TO WEST WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH. THESE
WINDS WILL PRODUCE SEAS OF 3 TO 4 FEET ALONG THE WESTERN ARCTIC
COAST INCLUDING WAINWRIGHT AND POINT LAY...AND AROUND 3 FEET NEAR
BARROW...THOUGH THE HIGHEST WAVES NEAR BARROW WILL BREAK A LITTLE
WAYS OFFSHORE AND LIKELY NOT REACH THE COASTLINE.

THE WEATHER SYSTEM WILL PASS OVER THE AREA BY LATE FRIDAY NIGHT AND
WINDS WILL DECREASE AND TURN TO THE NORTHWEST. WITH THE RELATIVELY
SHORT TIME OF THIS SYSTEMS MOVEMENT ACROSS THE AREA...WAVES SHOULD
NOT BE HIGHER AND THUS LITTLE IF ANY BEACH EROSION IS EXPECTED.
