Thundestorms have developed in eastern Nebraska and southwest
Iowa late this Monday evening, bringing periods of sleet and
freezing rain. Some cloud-to-ground lightning strikes have been
observed as well. Expect this activity to continue off and on
through 2 AM in areas near and south of Interstate 80 in Nebraska,
and most of southwest Iowa from the Missouri border north to near
Missouri Valley and Harlan.

Any freezing rain that falls will quickly cause roadways to
become slippery, and motorists are urged to use extreme caution.
The sleet may provide some limited traction initially, but that
traction will go away quickly as the sleet covers the roadway.

Outside of the storms with sleet and freezing rain, periods of
freezing drizzle are likely, occasionally mixing with light snow,
both of which will cause slippery driving and walking conditions.
