.SHORT TERM...
.TONIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT...A STALLED STATIONARY FRONT NORTH
OF THE SAMOAN ISLANDS WILL REMAIN IN PLACE THROUGH MIDWEEK.  AS THE
TRADE-WIND REGIME PERSISTS DURING THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS...MODERATE
TO FRESH TRADES AND ISOLATED SHOWERS WILL DOMINATE LOCAL CONDITIONS.

.LONG TERM...
.THURSDAY THROUGH MONDAY...THE SURFACE RIDGE TO THE SOUTH OF THE
REGION WILL DIMINISH IN STRENGTH DURING SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY. AN
AREA OF LOW-LEVEL CONVERGENCE UPSTREAM WILL GENERATE WEATHER AND
POSSIBLE TSTMS BEFORE THE END OF THE WEEK. FOR NOW IT APPEARS THE
MAIN THREAT FOR THUNDERSTORMS WITH THIS WEATHER FEATURE WILL REMAIN
NORTH OF THE ISLANDS FOR THE END OF THE WEEK. THEREFORE THE CURRENT
FORECAST REMAINS FOR ISOLATED SHOWERS AND MODERATE TRADE-WINDS
DURING THE LONG-TERM FCST PERIOD.

.MARINE...LARGE TRADE-WIND GENERATED SEAS AND SWELLS OF 7 TO 9 FEET
CONTINUE THROUGH TONIGHT...THEN ARE EXPECTED TO DECLINE TO BELOW 1
TO 3 FEET WEDNESDAY. HOWEVER...A SHORT-LIVED SWELL OF 7 TO 8 FEET IS
EXPECTED THURSDAY EVENING AS A STRONG HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM WELL
SOUTHEAST REMAINS NEARLY STATIONARY DURING THURSDAY. IF MODELS ARE
CORRECT...A SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY WILL BE NEEDED THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT.
