...HEAVY LAKE EFFECT SNOW NOW AFFECTING WESTERN SAINT LAWRENCE
COUNTY...

A BAND OF VERY HEAVY LAKE EFFECT SNOW HAS DEVELOPED ACROSS THE
WESTERN PORTIONS OF SAINT LAWRENCE COUNTY, GENERALLY ALONG AND
WEST OF ROUTE 11. THE HEAVIEST SNOWS ARE OCCURRING ACROSS THE
SOUTHWESTERN PORTIONS OF THE COUNTY FROM CANTON TO DE PEYSTER,
GOUVERNEUR AND HAMMOND. SNOWFALL RATES UP TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR MAY
BE OCCURRING IN THESE AREAS WITH LOCALIZED NEAR-WHITEOUT
CONDITIONS. IF TRAVELING ACROSS THE SOUTHWESTERN PORTIONS OF
SAINT LAWRENCE COUNTY THIS EVENING BE PREPARED FOR DIFFICULT
DRIVING CONDITIONS AND PLAN ACCORDINGLY. A LAKE EFFECT SNOW
ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR MUCH OF THE COUNTY UNTIL 1 AM.
