.Short term...
TONIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT...Surface trough over the islands
will remain nearly stationary through Saturday. RAOB from this
afternoon depicts a stable profile. However, models continue to
show moisture swinging back across the islands tonight. Therefore
expect scattered showers tonight becoming numerous on Friday
morning. As the weak high pressure over Tonga migrates farther
east, the aforementioned trough will shift south on Saturday
night. The trough will continue to deepen as it slowly moves
southeast. With the trough to the south, the strong high pressure
to the far southwest will not be able to intensify east winds
across the islands as previously forecasted. Therefore will amend
and keep east winds to gentle flow throughout the short term.

.Long term...
SUNDAY THROUGH THURSDAY...The low/trough to the south will remain
in the beginning of the new week as the high pressure continues to
propagate farther east. The aforementioned trough will then move
south southwest on Wednesday night as the high pressure
strengthens east winds as the islands.

South swells have slightly elevated seas 5 to 7 ft since this
morning. Wave watch models continue to hold seas below advisory
levels through the new week.
