The National Weather Service in San Juan has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Arroyo Municipality in Puerto Rico...
  Yabucoa Municipality in Puerto Rico...
  Maunabo Municipality in Puerto Rico...
  San Lorenzo Municipality in Puerto Rico...
  Patillas Municipality in Puerto Rico...

* Until 545 PM AST

* At 248 PM AST, Emergency management officials reported strong
  thunderstorms with heavy rain across the warned area. Flash
  flooding is already occurring.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Maunabo, Patillas, Emajagua, Palmas, Buena Vista, Palo Seco,
  Lamboglia and Yaurel.

Flood waters are moving down Rio grande de Patillas as well as
along Rio Nigua, Rio Guayanes and their tributaries.


Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.
