The National Weather Service in St Louis has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
  Eastern Madison County in southwestern Illinois...
  Southeastern Macoupin County in southwestern Illinois...
  Southwestern Montgomery County in south central Illinois...
  Eastern St. Clair County in southwestern Illinois...

* Until 830 PM CDT.

* At 428 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
  thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding in
  the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Belleville, O`Fallon, Collinsville, Edwardsville, Fairview Heights,
  Swansea, Glen Carbon, Shiloh, Highland, Troy, Maryville, Mascoutah,
  Litchfield, Staunton, Lebanon, Freeburg, Gillespie, Scott AFB,
  Smithton and Mount Olive.


Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
