...The Flood Warning continues for the following river in Southwest
Lower Michigan...

  Chippewa River Below Mt Pleasant affecting Isabella County

.River levels have started to recede. Moderate flooding continues
in Mount Pleasant, and the river will remain above flood stage into
Tuesday, but steady improvement is expected. The following
forecast is based on observed and forecast 24 hour precipitation.


Safety message... Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock
you off your feet, and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never
try to walk, swim, or drive through swift water. If you come upon
flood waters, stop, turn around and go another way.

This warning will be in effect until the river falls below its flood

The flood warning continues for
  the Chippewa River Below Mt Pleasant.
* until Tuesday evening.
* At  9:15 PM Saturday the stage was 12.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
* Moderate Flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast, the river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
  Tuesday morning.
* Impact, at 11.0 feet...Expect flooding of residences located in
  the north part of Mt. Pleasant.
* Flood history, this crest compares to a previous crest of 12.3
  feet on Feb 6 1938.
