...Dangerous Weather Conditions Ongoing...

A slug of cold air, gusty winds and snow showers still appear
likely tonight into Sunday morning. The snow showers should be
confined to those counties near the North Carolina and Tennessee
state line, and perhaps a little further east. An inch or two of
new snow will be possible.

Meanwhile, winds are expected to increase and temperatures will
tumble. Temperatures are expected to fall into the teens, while
wind gusts could reach 30 to 40 mph, with gusts to 45 mph
possible at the highest elevations.

This combination of cold and wind will cause wind chill values
to fall into the single digits. The gusty winds, in concert with
the recent heavy snow, may also cause further trees and power
lines to fall. This could result in an uptick in power outages.

In addition refreezing of road surfaces are likely with black
ice developing

All interests should take necessary precautions with respect to
the cold, potential power outages, new snow, and hazardous
driving conditions.
