WEATHER SUMMARY FOR THE MIDSOUTH
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MEMPHIS TN
402 AM CDT WED MAY 4 2016

A FAST MOVING COLD FRONT WILL MOVE ACROSS THE MID SOUTH TODAY
BRINGING CHANCES FOR A FEW SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS MAINLY ACROSS
EASTERN PORTIONS OF THE AREA. TEMPERATURES SHOULD WARM INTO THE
LOWER AND MIDDLE 70S AHEAD OF THE FRONTAL PASSAGE.

HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD BACK IN FOR THE END OF THE WEEK WITH A
BRIEF COOL DOWN IN TEMPERATURES. THE SURFACE HIGH WILL MOVE EAST
OVER THE WEEKEND AS UPPER LEVEL RIDGING BUILDS BACK OVER THE
REGION. THIS WILL KEEP DRY CONDITIONS IN PLACE AND ALLOW
TEMPERATURES TO WARM BACK TO SEASONAL AVERAGES THROUGH THE
WEEKEND. HIGHS SHOULD REACH INTO THE LOWER 80S WITH LOWS MAINLY IN
THE 60S.

UNSETTLED WEATHER WILL RETURN BY EARLY NEXT WEEK AS THE NEXT STORM
SYSTEM APPROACHES FROM THE WEST. INCREASING CHANCES FOR SHOWERS
AND THUNDERSTORMS ALONG WITH CONTINUED MILD TEMPERATURES CAN BE
EXPECTED THROUGH THE END OF THE EXTENDED FORECAST PERIOD.
