...THE FLOOD ADVISORY FOR AN ICE JAM REMAINS IN
EFFECT UNTIL 745 PM EST WEDNESDAY FOR NORTHWESTERN MECOSTA COUNTY...

At 951 PM EST, emergency management reported that the Muskegon River
in the vicinity of Old Logging Trail Road in between the cities of
Paris and Hersey continues to slowly rise. Water behind the ice jam
is causing minor flooding at this time with water rising into yards
along the river.

Local Emergency Management is monitoring the situation closely.
Residents along the Muskegon River from Paris upstream to the
Mecosta Osceola County line should monitor river levels closely as
ice jams can cause rapid fluctuations of several feet.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
people living along the Muskegon River northeast of the city of
Paris.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated.
