This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...south
central...southwest and west central Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Day 1 Discussion

Elevated fire weather conditions can be expected this afternoon
as gusty northwest winds at 20 to 30 mph with gusts as high as 40
mph develop and relative humidity values fall back to around 20
percent. Temperatures by early Wednesday morning will fall back
into the lower 30s across west central Kansas near the Colorado

* Non-thunderstorm wind: Elevated risk
* Freeze: Elevated risk
* Fire weather: Elevated risk

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Days 2-7 Discussion

Dry and windy conditions will continue mid week which will result
in another day of elevated fire weather conditions on Wednesday.

A strong cold front will cross western Kansas on Thursday. Gusty
northwest winds at 25 to 35 mph will be possible behind this cold
front Thursday afternoon.

Much colder air will settle into western Kansas late week and
early this weekend. Temperatures will be fall below 32 degrees
across much of western Kansas early Friday morning. Saturday
morning widespread lows in the low to mid 20s will be possible.
