...Water to be released over Granite Reef into Salt River channel...
At 3 PM Friday February 10th...Salt River Project officials have
indicated that 200-300 cubic feet per second (cfs) of water will be
released from Granite Reef Dam into the Salt River.
The existing flow over Granite Reef is insufficient to cause
significant impacts downstream along the Salt River at this time.
However this water flow will move toward the low water grade
crossings at Gilbert and McKellips roads in Mesa...as well as other
unbridged road crossings downstream...particularly in southeast
If you have any interests along the Salt River...especially along
low lying areas..remain alert for any increases in the river level.
Remember...be a smart motorist and do not drive through water of
unknown depth. The water may be deeper and stronger than you think.
