Today was certainly a day filled with sunshine across the state
nicknamed sunflower. Afternoon temperatures were in the mid to upper
60s. Southerly winds were fairly light for the eastern half of the
state while breezy winds with speeds of 20 to 30 mph occurred out

Winds in the High Plains will diminish some through the evening with
speeds of 15 to 25 mph. Forecast lows are forecast to be in the
upper 40s.

While today was breezy for the High Plains, areas further east will
have increased winds on Monday as the next system comes off of the
Rockies. Sustained speeds will be 20 to 30 mph out of the south for
the eastern portions of the Central Plains with lighter and a west
northwest direction for western Nebraska, Colorado and western
Kansas. Temperatures will be even higher with readings anticipated
to be in the upper 70s for most areas and low to mid 80s for western
Kansas into the Panhandles.
