WEATHER SUMMARY FOR THE MIDSOUTH

400 AM CST THU JAN 29 2015

A COLD FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH THE MIDSOUTH TODAY. GUSTY SOUTHWEST
WINDS WILL PUSH MILD AIR INTO THE AREA AHEAD OF THE FRONT. WINDS WILL
TURN TO THE NORTHWEST BEHIND THE FRONT AND REMAIN GUSTY THROUGH THIS
AFTERNOON. ANY RAIN WILL BE LIGHT AND MAINLY CONFINED TO PORTIONS OF
WEST TENNESSEE AND NORTH MISSISSIPPI THIS MORNING.

COLD AND DRY HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD INTO THE MIDSOUTH TONIGHT AND
FRIDAY. THE DRY WEATHER WILL PERSIST ACROSS MOST OF THE REGION
THROUGH THE DAY SATURDAY WITH TEMPERATURES REMAINING A LITTLE BELOW
NORMAL.

LOW PRESSURE WILL APPROACH AND MOVE INTO MIDSOUTH FROM THE
WEST SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY WITH RAIN BECOMING LIKELY. RAIN
MAY MIX WITH SNOW ACROSS PORTIONS OF NORTHEAST ARKANSAS AND THE
MISSOURI BOOTHEEL. A COLD FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH THE AREA FROM THE
NORTHWEST SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING. MUCH COLDER AIR WILL PUSH
INTO THE AREA FOLLOWING THE COLD FRONT WITH PRECIPITATION TAPERING
OFF TO LIGHT SNOW OR FLURRIES. MONDAY LOOKS TO BE A COLD WINTER
DAY WITH HIGHS ONLY IN THE 30S AND PATCHY SNOW FLURRIES IN THE
MORNING.
