...ACCUMULATING SNOWFALL LIKELY IN THE CASCADES THURSDAY NIGHT
AND FRIDAY...

AFTER A PROLONGED PERIOD OF UNUSUALLY WARM AND SUNNY SPRING-LIKE
WEATHER...WINTER WILL ATTEMPT TO MAKE A RETURN LATER THIS WEEK.
WEAK UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCES WILL MOVE THROUGH THE REGION
TONIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING AND AGAIN WEDNESDAY NIGHT INTO
THURSDAY. THESE SYSTEMS ARE EXPECTED TO BRING INCREASING CLOUDS
AND ONSHORE FLOW...IN ADDITION TO OCCASIONAL LIGHT RAIN OR
DRIZZLE ACROSS MUCH OF THE REGION. A MORE SUBSTANTIAL LOW
PRESSURE SYSTEM APPEARS TO BE ON TAP FOR THURSDAY NIGHT AND
FRIDAY. PRECIPITATION WITH THIS SYSTEM SHOULD BE STEADIER AND MORE WIDESPREAD.
ACCOMPANYING COLDER AIR IS ALSO EXPECTED TO BRING SNOW LEVELS
DOWN TO NEAR THE CASCADE PASSES. EXACT SNOW ACCUMULATION AMOUNTS
ARE STILL UP IN THE AIR...BUT IT APPEARS INCREASINGLY LIKELY THAT
SEVERAL INCHES ARE POSSIBLE THURSDAY NIGHT AND EARLY FRIDAY AT
SOME OF THE HIGHER PASSES.
