...Significant low elevation snowmelt expected across the upper
Green Basin, Star Valley, and Jackson Hole for Saturday through
Sunday...

The low elevation snowpack across Star Valley and Jackson Hole has
become very ripe or water laden.  Afternoon basin temperatures on
Wednesday coupled with rain on Thursday will begin active snowmelt
across Star Valley and Jackson Hole.

Afternoon basin temperatures across Star Valley and Jackson Hole
are expected to be in the mid to upper 40s on Friday, warming up
to the lower to middle 50s by Saturday afternoon.  Valley morning
low temperatures are forecasted into the lower to middle 30s both
Saturday and Sunday mornings. Winds across the western valleys
will be south to southwest at 10 to 15 mph Friday and Saturday.
Rain is expected Sunday afternoon at elevations below 8000 foot
elevation.

The warmer valley temperatures into the weekend will cause
significant low elevation snowmelt runoff across portions of
the Upper Green Basin, Star Valley, and Jackson Hole. Flooding
of smaller streams, culverts, and low lying areas
is expected to be the greatest on Sunday as snowmelt runoff
will be peaking at that time.

People living in flood prone areas across the Upper Green Basin,
Star Valley, and Jackson Hole should begin preparing for
rising water across low lying areas such as drainage ditches,
bridges, and basements.
