The National Weather Service in Amarillo has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
  Randall County in the Panhandle of Texas...
  Southeastern Oldham County in the Panhandle of Texas...
  Deaf Smith County in the Panhandle of Texas...
  Southern Potter County in the Panhandle of Texas...

* Until 1230 AM CDT

* At 1033 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
  thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Amarillo, Hereford, Canyon, Vega, Lake Tanglewood, Bushland,
  Buffalo Lake, Umbarger, Bootleg, Wildorado, Palo Duro Canyon,
  Mescalero Park, Dawn, Simms and Timbercreek Canyon.

Additional rainfall of 1 to 4 inches is expected over the area. This
additional rain will make minor flooding.


Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
