Flood Advisory
National Weather Service State College PA
1036 AM EDT MON MAY 29 2017

Clearfield PA-Cambria PA-
1036 AM EDT MON MAY 29 2017

The National Weather Service in State College PA has issued a

* Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
Southwestern Clearfield County in central Pennsylvania...
Northeastern Cambria County in central Pennsylvania...

* Until 1230 PM EDT

* At 1020 AM EDT, emergency management reported that runoff from the
heavy rain early this morning was causing some small streams to
run out of their banks. A few road washouts, caused by the earlier
Flash Flooding from 2 to 3 inches of rain in a short period of
time, were noted in Mahaffey, and on McCartney Road in Bigler
Township. The streams will subside quickly by early this afternoon
as no additional rain is expected through 2 pm.

* Some locations that will experience flooding from the excessive
runoff into small streams and creeks include...
DuBois, Jeffries, Osceola Mills, Houtzdale, Rockton, Sandy,
Chester Hill, Philipsburg, Curwensville and Prince Gallitzin State

Stay away from the high, fast-moving water or be swept away. Be
especially careful with allowing children to venture close to
flooded streams near campgrounds. River banks and culverts can
become unstable and unsafe.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
