Rip Current Risk:      Low risk. The risk for rip currents is low;
                       however, life threatening rip currents often
                       occur in the vicinity of the South Padre
                       Island jetties. Remember to swim near a
                       lifeguard.

Lightning Risk:       Low risk.

Ultraviolet Index:     Extreme. Wear a wide-brimmed hat and
                       sunglasses, and use sunscreen of SPF 15
                       or higher. Remain in the shade if possible.

Weather:               Partly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of
                       showers and thunderstorms.

Temperatures:          Low 90s. Heat Index 102 to 107 degrees.

Wind:                  East 10 to 15 mph.

Wave Heights:          2 feet or less.

Surf Temperature:      82 degrees.

Bay Temperature:       86 degrees.

Tides:                 A high at 5 26 am. A minor low at 9 49 am.
                       A minor high at 1 23 pm. A low at 9 43 pm.

Outlook:               A low risk of rip currents is expected
                       through late this week. There is a chance
                       for mainly sea breeze showers and
                       thunderstorms each day this week with a
                       better chance for rain Friday into the
                       weekend due to increased moisture off of the
                       Gulf. Hot conditions continue with highs
                       ranging from the upper 80s into the low 90s.
