REGIONAL WEATHER SUMMARY FOR WESTERN KANSAS

RAIN WITH EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS MOVED NORTHEAST ACROSS WESTERN
KANSAS DURING THE MORNING AND INTO THE EARLY AFTERNOON.  THE HIGHEST
RAINFALL AMOUNTS WERE IN BARBER COUNTY WITH BETWEEN AN INCH AND A
HALF TO AN INCH AND THREE QUARTERS.  RAINFALL AMOUNTS VARIED QUITE A
BIT WITH ANYWHERE FROM AROUND A QUARTER OF AN INCH TO NEARLY AN INCH
AND A HALF FOR THE REMAINDER OF SOUTHWESTERN KANSAS.  THE RAIN AND
LOW CLOUDS HELPED KEEP TEMPERATURES DOWN WITH HIGHS ONLY IN THE
UPPER 50S AND 60S.  A BAND OF THUNDERSTORMS HAD MOVED INTO WEST
CENTRAL AND NORTHWESTERN KANSAS EARLY THIS EVENING.

AN UPPER LEVEL LOW THAT WAS LOCATED JUST NORTH OF THE FOUR CORNERS
REGION SATURDAY EVENING WILL MOVE SLOWLY INTO SOUTHERN WYOMING BY
LATE SUNDAY AFTERNOON.  A SURFACE TROUGH IN THE LEE OF THE ROCKIES
WILL BE ALONG THE KANSAS COLORADO BORDER ON SUNDAY.  SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS FROM OKLAHOMA TO EASTERN KANSAS WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE
NORTHEAST OVERNIGHT.  SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL WEAKEN AS THEY
PIVOT NORTHWARD ACROSS THE CENTRAL HIGH PLAINS.  FOR SUNDAY, THE
BEST CHANCE FOR SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE FROM CENTRAL
OKLAHOMA TO EASTERN KANSAS AND ALSO IN THE CENTRAL HIGH PLAINS.
WIDELY SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE FOR
SOUTHWESTERN KANSAS DURING THE LATE AFTERNOON.  WARMER TEMPERATURES
CAN BE EXPECTED ON SUNDAY.

LOW TEMPERATURES TONIGHT WILL RANGE FROM THE MID AND UPPER 40S IN
THE FAR WESTERN HIGH PLAINS TO THE LOWER 60S IN CENTRAL OKLAHOMA.
HIGHS SUNDAY WILL RANGE FROM THE MID AND UPPER 60S IN WESTERN
NEBRASKA TO THE UPPER 70S AND LOWER 80S IN THE SOUTHERN HIGH PLAINS.
