Regional Weather Summary for Western Kansas

Skies were mostly sunny across western Kansas today. Some high
clouds from a few thunderstorms in eastern Colorado had spread
into parts of western Kansas early this evening. Temperatures were
much warmer this afternoon as highs ranged from 93 degrees at
Goodland to 102 degrees at Elkhart.

An upper level ridge of high pressure over the Southern Plains will
build into the Central Plains Monday. A weak frontal boundary from
southeastern Colorado to southwestern Kansas to north central Kansas
will move back north as a warm front tonight. By late Monday
afternoon the weak frontal boundary will extend from east central
Colorado and northwestern Kansas into southeastern Nebraska.
Widely scattered showers and thunderstorms in eastern Colorado may
make it into the Central High Plains and possibly central
Nebraska tonight. Most of the region will have very warm
temperatures on Monday. Widely scattered thunderstorms will be
possible later in the afternoon from eastern Colorado into western

Low temperatures tonight will range from the lower 60s in north
central Kansas to the mid 70s from eastern Kansas to central and
western Oklahoma. Highs Monday will range from around 90 across
most of western and central Nebraska and northeastern Colorado to
around 100 in parts of the Southern High Plains, southeastern
Colorado and southwestern Kansas.
