REGIONAL WEATHER SUMMARY FOR WESTERN KANSAS

Skies were mostly cloudy across most of western Kansas today.
There was sunshine in parts of west central and northwestern
Kansas during the afternoon. A few very light showers or sprinkles
moved into southwestern Kansas from around the Liberal area over
into south central Kansas late this afternoon and early this
evening. Liberal only picked up a hundredth of an inch.
Temperatures were warmer today with highs mainly in the 60s.
A southwest flow aloft will continue over the Central Plains through
Monday as an upper level storm system becomes nearly stationary over
southern California. A weak surface ridge of high pressure will
remain in the Central Plains, while an area of low pressure begins
to form in the lee of the Rockies later tonight and Monday. Skies
will be mostly cloudy tonight with rain showers confined to the
Southern High Plains. A warming trend will continue on Monday even
though there will be plenty of clouds around.
Low temperatures tonight will range from the mid 40s in the
Central High Plains to the mid 50s in central Oklahoma. Highs
Monday will range from the upper 60s to mid 70s.
