Regional Weather Summary for Western Kansas

Skies were mostly clear across western Kansas during the overnight
and early morning hours. Showers and thunderstorms moved out of
western Kansas after midnight. Precipitation was highest in Ellis
and northwestern Lane county with rainfall amounting to around 2
inches. The southern portions of the state remained dry and
temperatures fell into the upper 40s and lower 50s.

An upper level low pressure system will move northeast out of the
Central Plains into the Midwest this afternoon. At the surface,
high pressure will build. There will be a small chance for showers
and storms late this evening and through the night in
southeastern Colorado and extreme southwestern Kansas. Severe
weather is not expected at this time, but a few rumbles of thunder
could be possible with any storm that forms.

Highs today will climb into the upper 70s and lower 80s in eastern
Colorado and across Kansas. Lows tonight will range from the
low to mid 50s in eastern Colorado and western Kansas to the upper
50s and lower 60s in the central and eastern portions of the
