Broad surface high pressure extended from Idaho and Utah into
western Kansas. An opaque layer of high clouds covered much of the
area in the late afternoon, as strong gusty northwest winds
persisted across the region. Afternoon highs ranged from 38 at
Goodland where snow was still on the ground, to as warm as 49 at
Elkhart.

Winds speeds will drop off dramatically overnight, remaining from
the northwest. Forecast low temperatures range from the low 20s
in the northwest to the mid 20s near Oklahoma.
