AS THE MAJORITY OF SOUTHWESTERN KANSAS REMAINED DRY OVERNIGHT,
THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPED ACROSS PORTIONS OF NORTH CENTRAL KANSAS
PRODUCING HEAVY RAIN. A FEW LIGHT RAIN SHOWERS WERE ALSO NOTED
ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL KANSAS THROUGH MID MORNING. PRE-DAWN LOW
TEMPERATURES RANGED FROM THE MID 50S IN NORTHWESTERN KANSAS TO THE
MID 60S IN THE SOUTHEASTERN HALF OF THE STATE.

A RATHER STRONG UPPER LEVEL TROUGH OVER THE INTERMOUNTAIN WEST WILL
MOVE FARTHER EAST INTO THE NORTHERN AND CENTRAL ROCKIES BY SATURDAY
AFTERNOON. SURFACE TROUGHING ON THE LEE SIDE OF THE ROCKIES WILL
SHOW LITTLE TO NO EASTWARD MOVEMENT THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING. ON
SATURDAY, A DRYLINE IS EXPECTED TO SHARPEN ACROSS WESTERN KANSAS AS
MOISTURE CONTINUES TO BE TRANSPORTED NORTH. A FEW THUNDERSTORMS WILL
BE POSSIBLE GENERALLY WEST OF GARDEN CITY LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND
EVENING. THE BETTER CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE ON SATURDAY WITH
STRONG THUNDERSTORM WINDS AND HAIL BEING THE THREAT. HOWEVER,
TORNADOES WILL ALSO BECOME AN ISSUE IN THE AFTERNOON PRIMARILY EAST
OF GARDEN CITY.

HIGHS TODAY WILL RANGE FROM THE UPPER 70S IN SOUTHERN NEBRASKA TO
THE MID 80S IN SOUTHWESTERN KANSAS. LOWS TONIGHT WILL RANGE FROM THE
MID 40S IN NORTHEASTERN COLORADO TO THE MID 60S AROUND OKLAHOMA
CITY.
